Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 100% Monastrell.
The grape used to make the Enrique Mendoza El Estrecho 2020 red wine comes from a single plot located in the “Estrecho de Pipa” area in Villena, located 700 meters above sea level and with “edafological” (land) characteristics that make it unique. It is a traditional vineyard with 1,500 plants per hectare formed in a glass and without any irrigation support, working with the zero waste concept, this means that it has never received herbicides or systemic and of course no insecticide, it only works with powdered sulfur, copper, biological control such as the "bacillus turugensis" for the moth and a lot of awareness. The fertilizer is made with compost from organic sheep fermented by the Winery. The harvest of this harvest took place the fourth week of September. This wine was aged for 16 months in 500-liter Allier French oak barrels.
TASTING
View: Ruby red color with some garnet reflections, clean, bright and cheerful.
Nose: In the olfactory phase we find a lot of ripe fruit linked perfectly to the wood, without it predominating. At this moment, elegant balsamic, undergrowth, humus, wet earth, pine, rosemary, very ripe red fruits and fig bread clearly appear, accompanied by fine smoky and cedar notes provided by the Allier French oak barrels.
Mouth: Fine entry, with sweet and grainy tannins. The wine is fresh and acidic, which will help it liven up and offset the alcoholic level. It is a very long and unctuous wine.
Recommended temperature: 17ºC.
