This tasty rum is part of a series of 6 strictly limited bottlings of El Dorado Versailles Special Cask Finish from Demerara Distillers in Guyana. The rum was distilled in 2005 and bottled at a full cask strength of 55.4% in 2021. The careful distillation took place in the exclusive Versailles wooden still, a relic of the Versailles plantation, located on the western bank of the Demerara River. PREPARATION
After distillation, this rum first matured for 8 years in ex-American bourbon barrels, and then another 8 years for its special finish in French oak barrels in which dry Madeira wines were previously fermented. These are selected barrels that come from a single winery on the island of Madeira.TASTING
