PREPARATION
The Dalmore Luceo begins its aging in ex-bourbon American white oak barrels and for its final maturation the whiskey is transferred to barrels that have previously contained Sherry for 30 years. The Dalmore whiskeys are matured in exceptional casks, hand-selected by master distiller, Richard Paterson, and sourced from the best and exclusive wineries in the world. The Dalmore house style derives from a close and trusting relationship that was forged with the house of Jerez González Byass more than 100 years ago. The rare casks, which have previously held 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso Sherry, are exclusive to The Dalmore and enrich the distinctive chocolate and orange character of their whiskeys with rich, nutty flavours.
TASTING
View: Mahogany color.
Nose: Aromas of bakewell cherry, sugary coffee and a touch of ginger.
Mouth: The same nuances found on the nose, flavors of raisins, a honey glaze, a long and very well balanced finish of ginger and cocoa.
