Contino Garnacha 2019 75cl.
Contino Garnacha 2019 is a complex, elegant Rioja with a mineral finish. The vintage of this single-varietal Garnacha suffered very adverse weather conditions, but it resisted like never before, offering a wine of the highest quality. This Contino, suitable for vegans, is defined as a fruity red wine, which thanks to its acidity offers us fragrant sensations. Perfect to accompany sausages, semi-cured cheeses, roasted red meats and grilled vegetables. Contino was born in 1973 as the first “chateau” in Rioja. Their wines are obtained only from the vineyard planted on their 62 hectares. The Contino vineyard is located in a privileged environment, integrated around an old manor house, in a bend of the Ebro in Laserna, a district of the municipality of Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa. Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 100% Garnacha.
The grape for the production of Contino Garnacha 2019 comes from the old Pajera Estates, harvested manually on September 14, carrying out a selection in the field and on the selection table upon arrival at the Winery. It was vatted in a French oak wood vat, where it underwent pre-fermentation maceration until fermentation began spontaneously. After eight days the alcoholic fermentation ended. But the Grenache remained in the vat for 15 more days. Afterwards, it was transferred to a Stockinger foudre and 12 500-liter barrels where it remained for 10 months and was subsequently aged and refined in a concrete tank for 5 months. The 2018 harvest was marked by a year of rainfall, but with a mild summer. It was a difficult campaign in terms of inclement weather, but a very good vintage from the point of view of quantity and quality.
TASTING
