Description
PREPARATION
As the world's oldest Scottish maturation house, Bowmore's legendary No.1 Vaults is the birthplace of sought-after and collectible whiskeys, including the new Vintner's Trilogy. The second of the trilogy, Bowmore Vintner's Trilogy 26 Years matures for time in bourbon barrels and wine barrels, developing a burnt amber color. At Bowmore they don't mind spending more time than necessary at each stage of the process, so they hand-turn their barley day and night, allow perfectly timed fermentation periods, and take their time hand-selecting the barrels. This care and attention to detail is what creates the complex balance of not only the smoke, but also maritime minerality and fresh stone fruit notes that is so characteristic of the house's timeless style.
TASTING
View: Dark amber color.
Nose: Aroma of red currant jam, camphor oil and cherry pie intermingle with earthy smoke.
Mouth: Notes of spicy oak smoke and dark chocolate. Long-lasting and delicious flavor with a touch of salt on the lips.
