PREPARATION
The Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve is a blend of several award-winning Yamazaki whiskeys and was launched in spring 2014, although the real difference is that Suntory malts are typically finished in Bordeaux wine casks and sherry casks, and the Distiller's Reserve also contains Single Malt that is matured in Mizunara casks. It is made in the first and oldest malt distillery in Japan. Yamazaki's famous waters and unique misty climate of variable temperature and humidity combine to provide ideal conditions for whiskey making. In 1984, it was 60 years since the first drop of whiskey created at the Yamazaki distillery. Saji himself made the calligraphy and represents the passion of Suntory and the celebration of the birth of the Japanese single malt.
TASTING
View: Gold color.
Nose: Aromas of strawberry, cherry and mizunara (Japanese oak).
Mouth: Smooth with flavors of fresh fruit, raspberry, white peach and a touch of coconut. Pure sweet vanilla finish with notes of cinnamon.
