Description
PREPARATION
The making of Glenmorangie The Quinta Ruban 14 Years Whiskey begins in the distillery's giraffe stills, smooth and fruity, which then becomes darker and deeper as it is aged for 14 years in bourbon barrels and Port casks from Portugal. The finished whiskey is a tangle of voluptuous flavor combinations. Glenmorangie has been making single malt whiskey since 1843, when farmer William Matheson and his wife Anne followed their dreams and founded their distillery. Its water is unusually rich in minerals, to help make the whiskey taste so wonderfully fruity. To keep this water pure, they own and protect the entire forest surrounding its source, the Tarlogie Spring. And they use the best barrels to age their spirit, sourced from all over, often even customized to your specifications to create a distinctive flavor profile.
TASTING
View: Amber color.
Nose: Dark chocolate with mint and Seville oranges blend with sandalwood and walnut, with a spicy finish of pepper and nutmeg.
Mouth: Mint chocolate and walnuts envelop the palate, setting the stage for rose, Turkish delight and sweet Seville oranges. Silky and long-lasting aftertaste that leaves dark chocolate mints and traces of orange.
