PREPARATION
As a blended whiskey, each bottle of Ballantine's 30 Years has a wide variety of malts in every sip. The age definition on the bottles indicates the youngest whiskey used in the blend, that is, the minimum period of time that a whiskey has aged in the barrel. Therefore, the Ballantine's 30 Year Edition includes whiskeys aged for a minimum of 30 years in its blend, although most are matured for much longer. Ballantine's was first created in 1827 by George Ballantine, a Scottish businessman who followed his own path in life and was driven to produce the ultimate blended whiskey of the highest quality. By 1884, Ballantine had 20,000 gallons of blended stock, so he began allowing the malts to age. Over the years, a more discerning flavor was created, one that would make an exceptional mixer, staying true to its roots since 1910.
TASTING
View: Deep antique gold color.
Nose: Deep, soft, fruity aromas, elegant sweetness and vanilla oak.
Mouth: Complex balance of honey, floral and fruity flavors with notes of vanilla. Durable and elegant finish.
