As ambassador of the Order of Malta to Tsarina Catherine II, Count Jules René Litta had the opportunity to discover and further develop the secrets of vodka with the master distillers of the Imperial Court. Based on aristocratic tradition and following his instinct, he decided to create his own recipe to make a perfectly smooth vodka. The recipe remained in the Litta family as a well-kept secret for generations. In 1998, Marquis Eugenio Litta Modignani, descendant of Jules René Litta, decided to launch Tovaritch! vodka! following the recipe of their ancestors.

Tovaritch! Russian Vodka is made, respecting Russian tradition, through a 5-distillation process from spring wheat and rye from the Volga region, known for its abundant harvests of high-quality grains. In their quest to produce best-in-class vodka, the team controls every part of the product, from seed selection to bottling. Another key element of this high-end vodka is water. According to studies, it accounts for 56% of the quality of the final product. In the making of Tovaritch! Water from an underground well is used. The water passes through sand filters to remove iron and is softened through sodium cation exchange filters. The remaining inorganic solids are removed through reverse osmosis treatment. It is filtered 20 times through a combination of birch and silver charcoal and. No flavors or aromas are added.

Mouth:
The entry is incredibly smooth and gives way to a very clean, fresh palate with a characteristic 'bread' flavor. The finish is hot without being burning.
