Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: Sauvignon blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle de Bordeaux.
Lillet Blanc is made from the best white wines of the Bordeaux region from the Sauvignon blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle de Bordeaux grape varieties, plus a liqueur from different oranges, other botanicals, fruits and quinine extract. It is also aged in oak and treated like any other Bordeaux wine. The Lillet Frères company was founded in 1872 by wine merchants Paul and Raymond Lillet, in Podensac, in the Bordeaux region of France. The secret ingredients remain unchanged and the original recipe is jealously guarded by the Cellar Master, guaranteeing Lillet its iconic status as the quintessential Bordeaux aperitif.
TASTING
View: Bright gold color.
Nose: Aromas of citrus, orange, grapefruit, lemon and flowers of jasmine, narcissus with smoky notes, honey and an earthy finish.
Mouth: In the mouth it is sweet with quite a bit of freshness and acidity present and a pleasant mid-palate. Fresh, sweet and desirable.
