The Glenlivet "Distillers Reserve" 1L. - Case
The name Glenlivet has always been associated with a high level of quality, such that other distilleries used the name, regardless of their distance from the Glen valley “Livet glen”. To help preserve the brand, George Smith's son, John Gordon Smith, applied for exclusive rights to the name, which was granted to them in 1884. The name can still be seen elsewhere, however, by law, other brands must add hyphens and their own names. The large distillery, with a capacity of 5.8 million liters per year, is owned by Chivas Brothers, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. Currently and since 2014, The Glenlivet is the best-selling single malt whiskey in the world and also the best-selling in the US.
