PREPARATION
In 1953, the young Princess Elizabeth ascended the throne. The occasion called for a tribute fit for a queen and so at Strathisla, the oldest operating distillery in the Scottish Highlands, an exquisite blend was created. It was given the name Royal Salute, after the famous 21-gun salute, and thus began the story of an extraordinary whiskey, which to this day has marked every significant event in the life of the British Monarchy. The secret to Royal Salute's success is its legendary vault. Over the decades, the custodians of Strathisla have collected and stored whiskeys of immense distinction. Behind closed doors, these liquids lie in wooden barrels, aging, maturing, patiently waiting for the moment when they are ready to work their magic. Royal Salute 38 Years Stone of Destiny is made according to the original recipe through the skillful blend of Scotch whiskeys from 75 distilleries matured for a minimum of 38 years.
TASTING
View: Amber color.
Nose: Intense aroma, with notes of cereals, vanilla, almond, hazelnut, walnuts and a smoky thread.
Mouth: In the mouth it is round, creamy and harmonious; perfectly integrated into the alcoholic note, touches of sandalwood and smoky tones. It presents a mouthfeel characterized by its malt flavor wrapped in light touches of raisins and notes of tobacco, fresh flowers, dark chocolate, apple and allspice. Very spicy finish accompanied by light notes of malt and sherry.
