PREPARATION
Barceló Gran Añejo is the fruit of the perfect blend of the finest Dominican rums, patiently matured for up to six years in ex-bourbon oak barrels. Barceló rum had its origin in 1929, when Julián Barceló arrived in the Dominican Republic with the purpose of making a rum that will go down in history as the best in the world, and it was just a year later, in 1930, when he founded Barceló & Co. In 2016 Ron Barceló becomes the first rum in the world certified as Carbon Neutral, the first distillate and rum in the world to be part of the UN Climate Change initiative, Climate Neutral Now.
TASTING
View: Amber color.
Nose: Pleasant, fine aroma, memories of candied fruits, candies, raisins and aromas of spices such as vanilla.
Mouth: Memories of chocolate and vanilla followed by a subtle flavor of caramelized nuts and a semi-dry body. Finishes with a nut butter and caramel flavor that gradually fades.
