Description
Winemaking
The Rémy Martin VSOP cognac is a glorious blend of more than 200 eaux-de-vie from Grande and Petite Champagne. It is made by double distillation of the wine in small copper stills in the Charentaise style, which turns out to be a key factor, since it is made with the lees and without adding sugars. The mixture resulting from the second distillation, called "la bonne chauffe" is more aromatic and has greater potential for aging in the cellars. It is aged for 4 years in French oak barrels from the Limousin region, which gives it a silky texture and soft aromas of vanilla and licorice, as well as floral and fruity notes.

Nose: Dominant notes of vanilla due to greater aging in French Limousin oak barrels. Followed by ripe apricot, baked apple and elegant floral notes.
Mouth: A perfect harmony between the strength of ripe fruits and subtle notes of licorice, offering a great complexity of elegant and powerful aromas.
