Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir.
The characteristic freshness of this Champagne comes from perfectly ripe Chardonnay grapes that are harvested by hand in the Côte des Blancs vineyards. Cellar Master Frédéric Panaïotis ensures that this benchmark non-vintage Champagne remains true to its original heritage, exhibiting the mineral clarity for which Ruinart is famous. The grapes used to create R de Ruinart come primarily from the Côte des Blancs, a chalk-rich area famous for its superior Chardonnay, and the Vallée de la Marne, which grows Pinot Noir and Meunier that add a soft fruity touch to Champagne. The cellar master also adds 20-25% reserve wine from the previous two years.
TASTING
View: Light and vibrant yellow color with golden reflections. Good shine with sustained effervescence and very persistent foam.
Nose: The nose is delicate and fruity, showing dominant aromas of fresh white pear and dried fruits such as hazelnuts and almonds, followed by notes of white flowers, Viennese pastry and buttered brioche.
Mouth: Frank and direct attack on the palate. Balanced, round and full-bodied, with a perfumed attack of ripe fruits. The finish is long, the well-integrated dosage gives way to the characteristic freshness of Chardonnay that constitutes the majority of the blend.
Recommended temperature: 8-10ºC.
