PREPARATION
Passport whiskey is made from a blend of the best malt and grain whiskeys, carefully selected, matured and blended by a team of experts. Matured in predominantly American oak barrels, the flavor of the final blend is smooth and sweet. Passport was born in 1965 when Glen Keith began mixing whiskeys, carrying out trials and experiments. Passport was different from other Scottish blends. It challenged the conventions of Scotch whiskey. And with its iconic square, green bottle, it broke the mold. He embodied the values of the 60s. He was adventurous and unconventional. It was vibrant and colorful. He was a free spirit. The distillery, located in the heart of Scotland, in an area famous for its whiskey production, and legendary master blenders, Alan Baillie and Jimmy Lang, embraced malt and grain Scotch whiskeys to create a unique blend of exceptional quality. Since then, only the finest malt and grain whiskeys from across Scotland have been matured and blended to create Passport.
TASTING
View: Golden amber color.
Nose: Initial aroma with lively fruity notes of green apples and spicy orange, which give way to creamy vanilla and chocolate with a touch of roasted chestnuts in the background.
Mouth: Malt sweetness intertwines with orange marmalade, honeydew melon and charred pineapple, balanced with licorice and sweet pecans. Sweet and fruity finish, with a hint of bonfire smoke.
