Description
Winemaking
To ensure an authentic taste, the Martell Cognac House continues to use traditional copper stills to heat the wine. When simmering, the steam rises through the still head, past the gooseneck to the coil, where it condenses to form a clear, hot liquor. Oak barrels, which in turn are a living material, provide the spirit with its structure and its attractive amber color, and help it develop the last stage of its aromatic personality. Under the watchful eye of the master blender, the spirits that have reached their full potential are selected and the chosen ones are removed from the oak barrels and placed into glass carafes, which stops aging and keeps the spirits in their perfect state of maturation. The best are stored in the cellar.
