Enrique Forner founded Marqués de Cáceres Unión Vitivinícola S.A in 1970 in Cenicero, in the heart of Rioja Alta. Thus a historic alliance was opened between his family, with a long winemaking tradition, and the best vineyards in the region. Marqués de Cáceres Crianza 2019 is made mainly with Tempranillo, along with a small contribution of Garnacha and Graciano, this Crianza is one of the most consolidated Marqués de Cáceres wines on the market. Among fans of Rioja reds, there are many faithful to this traditional blend that stands out for its ripe and delicious tannins, thanks to exemplary aging in French and American oak. Ideal with tasty fish prepared in a slightly spicy tomato sauce, with Iberian meats and roasted, stewed or grilled meats. It forms a classic pairing with cured and semi-cured cheeses.

PREPARATION

Grapes: 90% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano and 5% Garnacha.

Marqués de Cáceres Crianza 2019 is made from a completely manual harvest, plot by plot. Its clusters are crushed and destemmed. It has an alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature that starts at 10 ºC until reaching 28 ºC. Its maceration with the skins lasts up to 20 days. Once the malolactic fermentation is finished, which takes place in stainless steel tanks, all the wines are transferred to barrels with racking every 6 months. It is aged for 12 months in split French (60%) and American (40%) oak barrels. They are 25% new barrels, 25% two-year-old barrels, 25% three-year-old barrels and 25% maximum four-year-old barrels. Before going on the market, the wine remains in the bottle for at least 1 year.

TASTING

View: It has a cherry color with a ruby edge

 

Nose: Fresh and aromatic. It gives subtle notes of spices and fine wood on an unctuous background of red fruits.

 

Mouth:

Sweet, fresh and balanced with a long and tasty aftertaste.   Recommended temperature: 16ºC.
