PREPARATION
The Macallan Estate is the Whiskey Maker's tribute to the brand's heritage and home. It is an extremely special single malt containing a rare spirit from a proportion of the barley grown on the Easter Elchies estate, which is distilled just once a year over the course of a single week. Created by whiskey maker Sarah Burgess, this whiskey is a celebration of the incomparable provenance and heritage of single malt whisky. The 485-acre Easter Elchies estate is located within the legendary Speyside region of Scotland, where The Macallan has been creating extraordinary malts since 1824. Their barley fields are located on the banks of the River Spey.
TASTING
View:
Dark mahogany color with brown reflections.
Nose:
Warm, comforting and homey notes of cinnamon. Aromas of woody spices and orange oil, opening into dried fruits with sweet lemon, banana and caramel.
Mouth:
Smooth and warm with woody spices, opening to a dry oak flavor enriched with candied raisins and fresh figs. Moving into a sweet fresh orange and delicate fresh citrus. Finish with a sweet citrus touch.
