Description
PREPARATION
Long John has been part of the Pernod Ricard group since 2005 and is made in the Scottish tradition, from a selection of 30 Highland and Island Scotch malt and grain whiskeys, spirits from the Tormore distillery form the heart of the blend and give it its distinctive roasted almond sweetness. It is distilled, aged for a minimum of three years and then blended in the heart of the Highlands.
The name Long John is received from the creator of the brand John McDonald who in 1825 acquired the license to create the Ben Nevis distillery in Fort Williams and begin producing a style of malt never before seen in the Highlands of Scotland and due to his great physical size they began to nickname him Long John. From this moment the brand has been developing until reaching a certain global distribution where its predominant market is the French.
