PREPARATION

To make Glenmorangie 18 Years Whiskey the silky and fruity spirit from the giraffe stills is collected and left to rest in American oak barrels. No less than 15 years later, a portion is transferred to Oloroso Sherry barrels for three more years. Once 18 years have passed, they bring them together to create their warm balance of sweet and floral exuberance. Rich jam flavors are rubbed with honey and fig, hints of caramelized orange and distant campfire smoke. Glenmorangie has been making single malt whiskey since 1843, when farmer William Matheson and his wife Anne followed their dreams and founded their distillery. The copper stills in which they distill their spirit feature necks as high as a giraffe, creating more space for flavor and aroma. Its water is unusually rich in minerals, to help make the whiskey taste so wonderfully fruity. To keep this water pure, they own and protect the entire forest surrounding its source, the Tarlogie Spring. And they use the best barrels to age their spirit, sourced from all over, often even customized to your specifications to create a distinctive flavor profile.

Nose: Rich, round and sweet aroma with dried fruits and a complex floral fragrance.

Mouth: Balance between honey, malt and floral notes. Rich figs and dates emerge with a hint of wood smoke in the background. Long and seductive finish with the sweetness of dried fruits and the subtle dryness of fragrant walnut.
