The distillery sources its cooling water from Crosshill Loch. Campbeltown was the capital of Scotch whiskey production before the enactment of Prohibition in the United States. There were about twenty-eight distilleries, although after the law was repealed, only three survived. Prizes and scores:

Description
PREPARATION
Elegant, complex and rich with depth. Victoriana is Glen Scotia's Cask Strength expression that is characterized by having been aging in extremely toasted barrels, giving it many rich and toasted notes. Without coloring or cold filtering. It is the modern interpretation of a classic Victorian-style Campbeltown single malt.
TASTING
View: Pale gold color
Nose:
Clear notes of nuts and popcorn. Ripe fruit, and elegant notes of oak wood. Orange jam and toasted almonds.
Mouth:
Very well integrated, despite being Cask Strength, the alcohol does not bother. More fruit on the nose, with juiciness of dark berries like sweet plum. Notes of pastries with the jam on the nose and light smoky notes, not from the peat but from the toast. Finish with toasted and nutty notes and light sweet fruits. A wonderful whiskey.
