Description
PREPARATION
Cutty Sark Prohibition is a traditionally crafted blend of the finest high-quality malt and grain whiskeys. Its aging in hand-selected American oak barrels gives subtle signature flavors of vanilla and citrus, while the overall flavors and finish are extremely smooth and complex. Cutty Sark launches this edition paying tribute to all those who managed to make its whiskey an emblem of alcohol consumption in the United States in the 1920s, as is the case of Captain Bill McCoy, the person in charge of distributing this precious drink among a whole network of private and clandestine establishments, a man who would end up becoming one of the most famous traffickers of Prohibition and whose name has become synonymous with excellence and quality (currently, the products of the highest quality in the US are known as 'The Real McCoy'). The black glass bottle is faithful to the one William McCoy used to supply alcohol to the illegal bars of the time and has a cork seal, reflecting the traditions of the time.
TASTING
View: Dark golden color.
Nose: Aromas of green apple, citrus, floral notes and a touch of malt that grows progressively.
Mouth: Fruity and sweet notes of licorice, vanilla and honey. Light notes of sherry and a touch of orange. It is a very spicy whiskey, especially at the end of the palate. When you open it, it softens and the floral and apple notes stand out, while maintaining the sweetness of honey and caramel.
