Contino Blanco 2019 75cl.
With Contino Blanco wine 2019 CVNE allows us to return to the traditional whites of Rioja, with aging capacity, balance and freshness; where there is no excessive woodization and the floral and fruity character predominates, but with the tannic contribution of the barrel and the fat of the cement egg giving it structure and character. The peculiarities of its production and its partial aging in oak barrels lead to the appearance of subtle aromas of white fruit, floral notes and toasted nuts, while on the palate it shows volume and smoothness, good acidity and silky tannin. Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 82% Viura and 18% Garnacha Blanca.
To make the Contino Blanco 2019 wine the Viura varieties are used, from different areas of Contino, from the alluvial and old Lentisco payment, from the stony San Gregorio La Tabla and from the Santa María estate, with ages between 35 and 40 years; and Garnacha Blanca from the San Gregorio Encina estate planted in 1980 with calcareous clay soils. The winery decided that this wine would not undergo malolactic fermentation to preserve its acidity. The proximity of the vineyard to the winery allowed the clusters to arrive in perfect condition. The harvest was carried out manually, the entire clusters were destemmed and vatted in stainless steel tanks. After a pre-fermentation maceration of a few hours, they were bled, to extract the flower must, and give way to alcoholic fermentation. When this came to an end, 36% was transferred to a concrete tank and the remaining 64% to second and third use barrels, of different cooperages and capacities, where it remained for 13 months until bottling.
TASTING
View: Yellow color with slightly golden trim.
Nose: Very intense, with great complexity, fragrant, the notes of wood aging predominate, which combine perfectly with floral notes and hints of citrus and stone fruit.
Mouth: Fresh, unctuous, with excellent acidity and a finish marked by its fruity character.
Recommended temperature: 9-12º C.
