PREPARATION
Compass Box The Spice Tree is made from a blend of single malt whiskey whose richness comes from being finished in new, custom-crafted French oak barrels, which impart deep spice flavors. Compass Box was founded in 2000 by John Glaser, an American living in London who was working for a large UK distillery when he realized there was a lot that had yet to be explored in the world of Scotch whisky, so he decided to do something refreshing and different and bring the joy of Scotch whiskey to more people in new and exciting ways, based on the long-lost model of the Scotch whiskey blending house.
TASTING
View: Amber color.
Nose: Aroma of baking spices such as cloves and ginger.
Mouth: Rich and intense with layers of toasted oak hints that complement the underlying character of the distillery, with a core of fruity maltiness.
