PREPARATION
The Chivas Mizunara whiskey is a true example of the collaboration between two whiskey-loving countries. Inspired by Japanese discernment and artistry integrated into the world of whiskey, master blender Sandy Hyslop traveled to Japan in search of the finest Mizunara oak casks. After visiting a Japanese cooperage and meeting with the master cooper, the exact specifications of the barrels were agreed upon and a relationship was established that remains strong today. A portion of this blended Scotch whiskey has been finished in Mizunara Japanese oak casks. The porous nature of Mizunara oak means there is greater flavor influence from the cask, resulting in a wonderfully indulgent feel in the house's classic Scotch whisky. The barrels contribute a range of discreet aromatic flavors to the blend, finished with a touch of spice. Its distinctive flavor, which leaves a trace of hazelnut, makes Chivas Mizunara a truly unique blend.
TASTING
View: Warm amber color.
Nose: Fruity and very rich aromas with notes of pear and orange.
Mouth: Smooth and rich steps with honey sweetness and a contribution of hazelnut. Finish with a lot of personality and spicy aftertaste.
