Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Château La Croix de Ferrand's wine comes from vineyards located on the southern slope of the Pomerol plateau. Those responsible for this family property acquired in 1934 (Gasparoux family), strive to age their wines in the greatest tradition, while using modern techniques. On an area of 12 hectares and soils composed of lightly gravel old sands, characterized by a significant presence of iron dirt. The wines are aged for 18 months in oak barrels renewed by a third each year.
TASTING
View: From the south-facing slopes at Château Ferrand, this generous wine has a beautiful deep pomegranate color and typical aromas of violets, ripe plums, cherries and black currants.
Nose: Feathery, vanilla nose with velvety tannins and bright ripe fruit.
Mouth: Delicious, silky softness of elegant and perfumed fruit, with, again, supporting flavors of coffee and herbs, with supple tannins in a long, satin finish.
