Description

PREPARATION

Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier

The ancestry of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut dates back to 1846, when in response to the British preference for a drier taste, Maison Perrier-Jouët launched its Cuvée K, the first lightly dosed Champagne known as "Brut", with a sugar level of less than 5%, very little for a time when Champagnes contained up to 40%. Maison Perrier-Jouët became famous for its Brut, which it was able to produce due to the fact that its high-quality grapes required very little added sugar. Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut is the heir to this tradition and the initiator of the famous Perrier-Jouët style. Cellar master Hervé Deschamps selects the best wines from around 50 different Crus, expertly blending each Cru, as well as a percentage of reserve wines, to replicate the style and quality of the cuvée year after year. The Crus are selected based on the house's Chardonnay grape, whose elegance is enhanced in the final and complex blend by the structure of Pinot Noir, and the fullness and harmony of Pinot Meunier.
