Description

PREPARATION

The Cardhu 18 Years Whiskey matured slowly for 18 years in oak barrels, which provide it with a richer and more complex, delicate, fruity and sumptuous flavor. Cardhu, formerly Cardow, is the Speyside home of Johnnie Walker and comes from one of Speyside's oldest distilleries, located high in the hills on the north side of the Spey Valley with beautiful views to the south and close to the River Spey. Known for its smooth and sweet single malt whiskey, the story of Cardhu's rise to fame is largely told in the story of two determined women who were members of the founding family: Helen and Elizabeth Cumming, they were valued for their determination, skill, generosity and loyalty to the community, forever defining Cardhu as a whiskey with heart. This was the first distillery to partner with John Walker & Sons, and for 200 years, the elegant, soft and sensual character of Cardhu has been at the center of celebrations shared around the world.

TASTING

View: Golden color.

Nose: It presents complex aromas, although it maintains the delicacy typical of Cardhu, with notes of plum, pear, pineapple and currants, as well as chocolate and dried fruits.

Mouth: Sumptuous in body, but maintains the delicate character of Cardhu. The contrast between the soft fruit notes on the nose and a full, oily and complex palate is surprising. Appealing to sweet malt, with a touch of orange, licorice and a little black tea. Short to medium, clean finish, with more dulce de leche and herbal tea.
