Description
PREPARATION
Cacique Añejo is the first Cacique rum to be distilled, matured and blended at the foot of the Terepaima National Park. It is born from the combination of five types of aged rums of the highest quality, mixed to achieve a smooth and unique flavor. This variety is aged to achieve great versatility and perfection, mixing liquids from column, kettle batch and copper stills. Cacique is the most popular Venezuelan rum and was born from the work of Tomás Sarmiento, its founder, who already in the 1930s took advantage of the opportunities at his disposal and began distilling rums. After many years perfecting his technique, in 1961 he launched Cacique, quickly becoming one of the first golden rums, borrowing the best of the tradition and production of Scotch whiskey. Achieving that high quality of rum was his main concern and, precisely, he transmitted that obsession with quality to the Maestro Ronero at La Miel, the Cacique distillery on the edge of the jungle of Terepaima National Park.
