Description
PREPARATION
The Benriach 27 Years whiskey from 1994 has spent its entire life in a single Oloroso sherry punch at the Speyside distillery. The result is a delicious drink full of rich flavors. Only 653 bottles were filled, at 53% abv. The Benriach distillery was founded in 1898 in north Speyside. Whiskey founder and heir John Duff was an important milestone in the development of Benriach whiskey. The distillery is located on the site of the former Riach farm.
TASTING
View:
Copper color.
Nose:
Aromas of caramelized pine nuts and charred orange, with honeyed demerara sugar and refined wood smoke.
Mouth:
Flavors of silky red berries and roasted currants with spicy black beans and lingering smoky fennel.
