Description
PREPARATION
Bell's 8 Years Christmas Decanter 2001 is a blend of five malt and grain whiskeys, from five different distilleries: Blair Athol, Highland; Inchgower, Speyside; Dufftown, Speyside; Glenkinchie, Lowland and Caol ila, Islay.
The first bell decanter appeared in the 1920s and was made of blue glass, rather than the traditional shape, which came into play in 1988. The 2001 decanter celebrates the life of Edinburgh-born Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922), who in 1874 developed the basic ideas for the telephone and in 1876 the first phrase was transmitted. The 2001 decanter was the first of four under the title "Great Scottish Inventors."
