PREPARATION
The Balvenie Madeira Cask 21 whiskey matures in traditional oak barrels for at least 21 years before being transferred to barrels that previously contained Portuguese fortified wine. Thanks to natural alchemy and centuries-old craftsmanship, The Balvenie is unique among single malt whiskies. Their whiskey making process is dedicated to maintaining the artisanal pillars that characterize the brand and they are the only distillery in Scotland that still grows its own barley, uses traditional floor malting and has a boilermaker and team of coopers on site.
TASTING
View: Golden color.
Nose: Fragrant fruity and floral aroma, orange blossom, fresh pineapple juice, a touch of spicy ginger to finish with a little vanilla syrup.
Mouth: Pleasant mouthfeel with a really juicy touch, exotic fruit salad and barley sugar, a little liquid honey with cinnamon spices and a soft oaky vanilla at the end. Persistent and delicious finish, sweet and malty along with stripes of vanilla and spices.
